I use its four ideas to keep the work useful: Purpose means agreeing what should improve and for whom. Composability means reusing the people, practices and technology that already help. Just Enough means adding only the structure needed for a responsible next step. Evidence means checking whether the change made a difference. You get an approach shaped around your business and its goals.
If you already have a clear problem or opportunity, we can start there. I follow the work, find the real constraint and gather enough evidence to choose a useful action. If the starting point is unclear, I can use the model’s broader organisational views to identify a small number of priorities. The assessment serves the decision; it does not become a programme of work in its own right.
Before making a change, we agree the outcome, understand the starting point and record what we expect to happen. I bring together useful measures, the experience of the people involved and relevant comparisons. We keep enough of the reasoning and results to learn from them, so progress is judged by what improves for your business and customers.
We compare what happened with what we expected and decide whether to continue, adapt or stop. A small change limits the commitment while we learn. We also make clear who owns the decision and when to review it, so your time and investment follow the evidence rather than an old plan.
I start by following work from the customer promise through delivery and support. I compare what your people tell me with cost, capacity and performance evidence, then help you choose a few practical changes. That gives you a plan to reduce wasted effort while keeping customers and daily operations moving.
I help you choose a specific task, measure how it works today and test whether AI improves the whole process. That includes the time spent checking answers, integration and running costs. I can help agree access rules, quality checks and human review, so you expand its use when the evidence supports it.
I review the cost of serving your customers, system complexity and supplier proposals. I help you decide what to retain, improve, replace or stop, and build a commercial case for the changes. My experience leading cloud modernisation helps me connect technical choices with cost, performance and customer continuity.
I compare the costs and risks of keeping, improving or replacing it, including the effect on customers and your team. I can challenge estimates and supplier proposals and sequence the work around cash and capacity. You get a clearer basis for investment and a way to check whether the expected benefits arrive.
I map the skills your business needs against the work ahead and the strengths already in your team. Then I help clarify responsibilities and focus development where it will make a difference. This helps you use existing capability more effectively and see where recruitment is actually needed.
Yes. I can help managers set clear expectations, use practical performance reviews and turn skills gaps into development plans. I also clarify which decisions people can make and when to involve others. The aim is a team that works with greater confidence and takes responsibility for delivering your goals.
I bring customer commitments, support work and new development into one view of capacity. We agree priorities, make trade-offs visible and use a small set of delivery measures. I can help run planning and manage the work, so promises are grounded in what your business can deliver.
Yes. I have led internal teams alongside outsourced partners. I help clarify responsibilities, dependencies and what successful delivery means, then check that testing, handover and support are ready. That gives you a shared plan and a clearer way to assess whether partners are delivering what you need.
Yes. I have created and commercialised a software product. I work with you, customers and commercial colleagues to understand the need, shape the offer and plan how to bring it to market. I connect customer value, pricing, investment and delivery capacity so you can make more informed choices about the opportunity.
I help identify the customer needs worth building a repeatable offer around. We look at the offer, pricing, product or service plan and delivery model together. That helps you decide which requests support growth and which add complexity without enough value.
I can help identify where other products or services would meet an existing customer’s needs. I work with commercial teams to shape a clear proposition and connect it to the wider portfolio. This gives you a practical way to explore additional sales while staying focused on value for the customer.
They can, where your offer and eligibility fit the partner programme. My experience includes securing cloud partner payments and credits. I can help assess relevant incentives, build a case for support and prepare a shared sales approach with partner teams. Funding, credits and sales opportunities remain subject to the provider’s criteria and decisions.
I help bring customer requirements into sales and delivery planning early, clarify ownership of controls and supplier responsibilities, and organise evidence for due diligence. I coordinate the relevant specialists so your business can make commitments it can meet. This supports readiness; it is not a security certification or a guarantee of legal compliance.
I work with founders and small and medium-sized businesses looking to improve efficiency, develop their people or grow their products and services. I bring more than 20 years across business development, product leadership, enterprise software and consulting. I am based in Livingston, Scotland, and you work directly with me.
I can do both. We agree the support you need, from assessing options and setting priorities to taking responsibility for an agreed plan and working with your people to deliver it. We also agree how to review progress, so you can see what is changing and what needs attention.
Email me a few lines about your business and what you want to achieve. We explore where I could help, then agree scope, time and fees before work starts. Support can be a focused assignment or ongoing work. An initial enquiry does not commit you to an engagement.
Answers draw on my career experience, including employed leadership roles. The scope and results of each engagement depend on your business and circumstances. My background on LinkedIn.
